Church revival for Christ is an event that seeks to re-energize and strengthen the faith of believers in Christ. It is a time for Christians to share their testimonies, learn about God’s Word, and pray for one another. It is a time for rededication and revitalization of the body of Christ. Revival can also be a time to reach out to people who may not know Christ and introduce them to Him.
Revival events may include worship services, Bible studies, prayer meetings, and special activities. At the same time, today’s revival events are extraordinarily modernized and events that welcome thousands of attendees.
But…
A revival that sparks emotions with concert-like Christian music, people shouting scripture, motivation, high volume, and people who do not have Christ’s anointing but a seminary degree will not change people. They will have an experience that will exasperate their desire to want change; they will cry, fall on the ground, and their emotions will be at an all-time high. Yes.
But…
They will believe they have been purified and changed, but after the euphoria is gone and things die down, the emotional elevation dwindles; the soul continues in sin and does more harm than good because people begin to chase that high, and genuine faith diminishes and people wonder why they can never get to the place that people who genuinely understand revival get to by giving up the world, not looking to make friends, and people-pleasing, living the scripture, which says nothing about this modern idea of churches and pyramids of power, and revivals, it’s not biblical and the revival events become like the rest of the concerts; a show. A revival is the awakening of the heart and spirit for Christ, which means giving up the world for Christ.
Isaiah 57:15
15 For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Sadly, the world is doing the opposite of what God says is necessary to have a clean heart and a pure, kind, generous, self-controlled, and tolerant spirit.
Altho, the idea of a large gathering to worship and give all glory to God is a beautiful and biblical concept. It takes more with less.
Psalms 85:6
Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
The answer is yes, and with the correct leadership and mindset. Joyful ministries are doing the work, which includes genuine deliverance and humble and effective service from a humble Spirit because it takes a desert to swim in the ocean.
Real Holy Spirit awakening is done face to the floor in the secret place and when life is entirely dedicating oneself to Jesus Christ, like those who visited the upper room. We don’t attend one event and are suddenly changed. It’s a lifestyle.
