Past the pain comes reward through faith in Jesus Christ

Repentance (It’s a Gift)

The gift of Holy Repentance is the opportunity to turn away from our sins and reconcile with God the Father. This gift was made possible through the love and bravery of Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself on the cross for our sake. Through His crucifixion, He made the way for us to be forgiven of our sins and be born again. One of the key scriptures that speaks about this gift is found in John 3:16, which says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse shows the extent of God’s love for us and the sacrifice He was willing to make to save us.

Another important scripture is found in Acts 3:19, which says, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” This verse emphasizes the importance of repentance and the cleansing power of forgiveness.

Undoubtedly Repentance is the core footing in Christ’s teachings. As Jesus said in Luke 13:3, “unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” Often repentance is looked at as a bad thing by people who love their sin. And while you might think, “no one loves their sin.” Believe they do, we see rebellion and fulfillment in sin on every corner, idolatry, homosexuality, murder, fornication, adultery, sexual immorality and four significant sins, yet deemed as reasonable, are pride, slander, envy, and lying. Still, there is more.

Society has become desensitized to sin and coerced into loving it and hanging Jesus back on the cross, which we see a great deal in families, community and especially Hollywood and Charlaton preachers while they openly mock Him. The people who the younger generation idolizes, and the religious yet, we can’t give up on the truth and stop sharing it; the truth of repentance is vital to be born again and saved, and we know it’s the only way to Heaven (John 3:3). When we acknowledge our sins, wrongdoings, and mistakes and make a declaration to God with our hearts, admitting our need for a Savior.

Certainly, Jesus is full of mercy and forgiveness. At the same time wrath is stored up for those who don’t believe or refuse to change. Hell is spoken about at least eleven times. The term Hades means hell. Oftentimes Sheol is referenced too. People choose hell by choosing not to believe or be changed by the Holy Spirit’s refining power to purify. Sadly many are deceived by religion and have a warped idea of Jesus, Heaven and hell and how we end up eternally separated from God.

Indeed, Repentance makes way for forgiveness and to be changed and transformed. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.-1 John 1:9. It is a recognition that we must turn away from our sin and turn to God, and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Don’t forget that Repentance is an essential step in the path to redemption, as it is only through repentance that we can receive forgiveness from God.

It is through repentance that we can enter into a relationship with our Father and allow Holy Spirit to transform us and create in us a pure heart and right Spirit. We go from slaves to the evil one to Sons and daughters of the highest, the true living God, Jesus Christ. Paul said “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.-Acts 3:19.

Overall, the gift of Holy Repentance is a wonderful opportunity for us to reconcile with God the Father and receive His mercy and forgiveness. It is a reminder the amazing grace afforded to those who believe. It’s not by works that no man can boast, but Christ’s courage and sacrifice that is available to us through His death and resurrection.

Please, It’s something to take seriously. Jesus is coming soon.

Blessings,
Sister Christine
