Past the pain comes reward through faith in Jesus Christ

Friend or Bad Company?

What does God have to say about friendship, and how many is enough? In Ecclesiastes 4:9
9, the verse describes the benefit of two being better than one because when two trusted friends work together to build a better tomorrow, they have a good return for their labor. In the same way, Paul makes mention in Ecclesiastes 4:10, saying if either of the two falls down, one can help the other up. Additionally, he mentions that it’s a shame when anyone falls and has no one to help them up. Therefore through these verses, we see that friendship is essential, but when is too many, or in other words, when isn’t one enough?

Here we discuss a topic that will have a split decision indeed. Undoubtedly some people think the more, the merrier, whereas others will say one or two is enough. Still, who is right or wrong? If we want a larger picture of the topic of the company, God’s word is the place to find it.

Proverbs 18:24 says, “A man of too many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” This verse tells us that Investing in a few quality friendships can lead to more meaningful relationships, which isn’t quality better than quantity. Look at it this way would you rather have a garage full of cars that don’t run or one nice reliable vehicle? Reasonably thinking the one that runs and is of good value is better because it helps you get through life and from place to place, or you could sit in the garage with twelve dead beaters holding you back from moving forward.

In 1 Corinthians 15:33, it says
We shouldn’t be misled: because bad company corrupts a good character. How many can relate to that throughout life, and depending on the company you kept, it was like hanging in the garage, in that you never moved forward and you began to be influenced poorly rather than having one or two eagles to fly with? Allow me to be the first to say that I have but never will again. Seriously, if people are not walking a strong godly path in Christ, why risk it, and for what?

On the other hand, God knows who is best for you and more than likely He is showing you, are you listening? Does Father know that too many corrupt cooks in the kitchen spoil the meal.

Furthermore, too many friends can harm your emotional and physical health, business, ministry, and office. Quality and authenticity are always better than quantity and or, people you can not trust. Do not be misled that we owe and loyalty too untrustworthy dead beaters, successful or not, it is crucial to invest your time into the ones that add godly value to your life, and surroundings.

This pup has it right, and aren’t we more intelligent than animals? I like to think so, wouldn’t you?

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (ESV)
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
