Past the pain comes reward through faith in Jesus Christ

Sexual Immorality

Sexual immorality is a significant issue within the church that needs not be neglected.

We see many Christians living together and unwed, which more than likely means they are fornicating.

They are directly influencing their inability to progress spiritually and opening spiritual doors to the abyss, and letting the enemy’s chaos into their lives and their family.

Moreover, YHWY leaves specific instructions and implications for the severity of sexual immorality, which will cause you to lose your soul.

In today’s society, it’s common for the opposite sex to be roommates and in platonic friendships, yet I would bet it’s still not looked at favorably by God.

After all, even in those scenarios, people bring their “dates” home, and fornication is a sin. And no matter how it’s sliced, people try to make it seen as acceptable, but it’s not.

The Bible is firm on the ramifications of sin. While the multitude declares homosexuality is sexual immorality, so are fornication, masturbation, and the sins people ignore out of comfort.

Some people will say, well, you used to live in sin. My response is, I don’t anymore and haven’t for years, so let’s stick to the facts that Jesus is the reason I don’t, and neither should you.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

We flee from sin when we are born again into the Holy Spirit; He is responsible for our cleansing, including our hearts, mind, and body.

Genuine repentance is the godly sorrow of having hurt God by defiling our temple through things like sexual immorality.

Furthermore, disobedience to our Father happens when we do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

So again, it is the responsibility of every Christian not only to read the word but do what it says. Why. Do not deceive yourselves that living in sin is acceptable because you go to church and pray.

It’s worse because you have heard the truth and claimed Christ, yet you are living like a hypocrite who is also lying, another sin that many people ignore the severity of.

Father knows that we are human, and the body has physical desires, so he gives us a wife or husband.

1 Corinthians 7:2 ESV
But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his wife and each woman her husband.

The Bible also says we are not born of sexual immorality.

John 8:41-42 ESV
You are doing the works your father did.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father—even God.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God, and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me.

Again, this confirms my early statement that godly sorrow is love for God, and when we love Him, we begin to build a healthy relationship with our Father and respect His wishes.

Additionally, YHWY changes us from the inside out, lust is no longer every day, and the temptations lessen when we live obediently.

We have Holy Spirit to thank for this and ourselves for making conscious choices not to feed into a feeling but pray it away.

1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide a way of escape so that you can endure.

There you have it, confirmation. I encourage every Christian not to take God’s word lightly but do what it says because you love your Father and fear Him. Liken to an earthly Father; children have a healthy fear of their Father; it keeps them from doing dangerous things that cause harm and upset their Father to reprimand them.

Our Father in Heaven is above our earthly Father, so listening is advised.

Mark 7:20-23 ESV
And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

To defile is to spoil, corrupt, and make unclean, and without genuine repentance, we stay unclean.

Revelation 21:27
Nothing impure will ever enter it (Heaven), nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Now is the time to face ourselves and each other, but most crucial, look to God for forgiveness and change our ways.

Jesus is coming.

Blessings,
Sister Christine
