Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. 11 Put on the whole armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
A genuine Christian does w/out things that bring temporary joy and pleasure but come with them a more significant demonic implication.
When we were w/out Christ; we did all those things, but with Him, we are made pure because of Christ’s Spirit.
A genuine born-again believer will eventually become like Christ if we strive for godliness instead of worldly pleasure.
At the beginning of a new walk with Christ, it takes a few years to be changed due to the power of Christ’s Spirit, so don’t be alarmed if you are not there yet.
However, for the lifelong Christian still living in the devils’ ways, there is a distinct issue. It’s time to question if you are saved at all, or have you backslidden so severely you rely solely on the belief of Jesus but blinded to think living in sin is ok.
Respectfully, it is not ok, and no one will see the Kingdom of Heaven without actively pursuing Christ’s Spirit to be made holy.
“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.
Being a nice person will not gain anyone Heaven, nor will religion, sacraments, tradition, or a false belief that good deeds are enough. The Bible says good deeds are as good as filthy rags.
You’re welcome those who gladly do right, who remember Your ways. Indeed You were angry, for we sinned. How can we be saved if we remain in our sins? 6Each of us has become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind. 7No one calls on Your name or strives to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and delivered us into the hand of our iniquity.
The power of the word brings healing, and feeds the Spirit’s power; we must fill with the Spiritual bread, which is the word of God.
In Romans 12:2, we are taught, “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
The Holy Spirit of Christ does for us what we cannot do for ourselves otherwise. Today is the day to seek the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on anything you may have heard before to trust Christ.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
God Bless you,
