Do You Have A Big Heart?

What many often underestimate is that a person with a big heart is also a person with strong emotions.

Many people with large hearts for others end up pouring their love out to individuals who do not appreciate it or who may invalidate it with rejection.

This selfish injustice can lead to fear and, oftentimes, dysregulated feelings or emotions.

John 3:16 (NIV): “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Romans 1:16 (NIV): “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”

Romans 10:9-10 (NIV): “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Through Jesus Christ, there is healing and heart refinement, and I’m here to tell you that this process often involves more pain, but it is pain with a purpose—to purify.

What we are left with is a pristine heart that still feels things passionately.

If a person with a big heart loves you, they’re going to love you passionately; if a person gets angry, they’re going to express that anger, but they’ll forgive you quickly.

If they’re sad, they’ll feel it deeply and cry, and that’s okay. Let people cry. Jesus didn’t create us with tears to be mocked for our sensitivity. It’s a beautiful thing, and our tears are cleansing.

So, I wanted to stop by and leave you this little message: remember that those with big hearts have big emotions.

Let people be who they are; lift them up when necessary, and learn to allow them to go through their process of growth, unchained from anyone’s opinions.

Meanwhile, do your best to make a positive impact in people’s lives.

As it says in Philippians 2:4, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others.”

That said, never fear standing up for yourself when people take advantage of your big heart because it’s precious and deserves to be treated with care and respect.

Remember what Proverbs 4:23 teaches us:

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Your heart is valuable, and it is important to protect it while also sharing its love with the world.

    Much love and truth,
    Sister Christine
