Sometimes, we must sit back and allow the Lord to redeem us as His servants.
It is not the time to speak, explain, complain, or strive for anything, but rather to live in love and faith.
This is a season for rest, a respite from the extreme hardships, oppression, persecution, and betrayals that we have faced due to our service and faith in Jesus Christ in past seasons.
Psalm 23:1-3 (NIV) states:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, and he refreshes my soul.
Genuine faith trusts in the truth of Christ’s timing, remaining authentically ourselves without begging, bartering, or compromising to appear one way while being another.
We leave that poor and depraved behavior to the charlatans; they have mastered the art of deception, but like any injustice, the truth eventually catches up over time.
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
It is a time of rest that not everyone will understand because when the anointing is genuine, it can appear to be so easily obtained.
However, that couldn’t be further from the truth; it takes years and even decades to be refined to carry the weight, often in obscurity, through difficult circumstances, and in obedience to sacrifice while living in spiritual warfare and service that is rare.
The battle and preparation is costly—a price paid that no one can understand unless they have actually paid it.
Contrary to the charlatans standing on stages illegally collecting tithes while quoting scripture in the limelight, reflecting on what our biblical brothers and sisters accomplished beforehand is not the same as walking that path ourselves.
The genuine anointing is a heavy cross that involves responsibility being surrounded by fire, holding onto faith as everything no longer needed is burned away, dying to self, and being transformed in the Holy Spirit while being protected by Jesus.
The physical and Spiritual attacks may be ruthless, but through each one, there is a lesson learned and healing experience.
It can be exhausting!
Even still, as 1 Peter 1:6-7 reminds us,
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.'”
It’s time to rest.
