The propensity to sin is the tendency to give oneself to the flesh. The Bible teaches us to walk in the Spirit, not the lust of the flesh.

The flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; therefore, these opposites are heretical to one another.

Sin is most significant when the word of God is misunderstood, ignored, or rebelled against, yet also when it’s read and not being lived out.

To live virtuously, we must practice a righteous lifestyle; it takes work.

By applying the written principles, given to Moses by YHWY, which are the ten Commandments, Christ sets a firm foundation.

Recall Apostle Paul’s plea to the church in Philippians 4:8-9

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

In vs. nine, he said, “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”

To be at peace with God is to have inner peace, and inner peace and calm lead to living honorably. It’s not to say a godly lifestyle isn’t challenging, but tranquil and righteous, pleasing to God, and prepared.

Recall James 1:22-27 (ESV)
“But be doers of the word, not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror, looks at himself, and goes away and forgets what he was like.

God is saying to look at yourselves and forget the image is likened to looking at the written words, and failing to live them out leads to avoidance of the image (reflection) of Christ.

James 1:19 says to be quick to hear, slow to speak, or angry because an angry man does not produce God’s righteousness.

What is God saying?

One of several things, at the same time, a single and essential piece to this verse, is not to be angered by the Father’s word and Christ’s teachers, who share the truth in love and maturity so that we all grow Spiritually in Christ’s righteousness.

The church has become a place of fashion and flair, unfairness and inequality, apostasy and idolatry, and fans and not followers of Christ.

Therefore the word preacher is faithful and bold in obedience to the text at all costs, like Paul, John, and the disciples who walked the earth with Jesus.

Colossians 3:5 reminds us, “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

By Christ’s sacrifice, He made a way to be saved, sealed, and sanctified, and sanctified means cleaned and purified.

It means to be consecrated; it does not mean speaking with offensive or perverse speech, irreverent joking, mocking, slander, or sitting at tables with thieves.

Through the Holy Spirit, Christ sent us a helper. The Holy Spirit is the power source, the place we go from flesh to Spirit.

Father also has a devoted set of people who are not offended easily by the backlash or the truth, nor bend when the heat is on but honing iron from their blade, sharp and wielding the sword preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We need no permission but honorably instruct the lessons that edify the church in preparation for the coming Savior.

It would help if you were prepared.

Galatians 5:16-26 (ESV)
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions.”

Matthew 4:17 (ESV)
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
