We live in the days that 2 Timothy 3:1-17 speaks on, beginning long ago. The last days where there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
The days of heretical gospels, watered-down words, fake prophets, and a distortion of what it means to be a Christian and Disciple.
We see tales called the truth, and the proof is named lies. We witness unclean spirits claiming to be the Holy Spirit bearing witness to the lack of discernment in the Church and authenticity in Christ.
Ephesians 5:1-2
Therefore be imitators of God as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up, a fragrant offering and sacrifice.
Furthermore, the meaning, price, and cost to be a genuine Fisher Of Men by called and chosen and not a choice.
First, let’s look at the meaning of a Fisher Of Men. A commissioned mandate—a call by God to walk and serve selflessly in the Lord to grow the Father’s Kingdom and not our own. We first see this phrase, “Fisher Of Men,” in the book of Mark.
Mark 1:17 “Come follow Me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men.”
The gospel of Mark sets sail differently from the other books of the gospel, whereas the book of Matthew, beginning begins with the genealogy of Jesus Christ. The gospel of the Evangelist Luke commences with the tellings of John the Baptist and his mother, Elizabeth. At the same time, the book of Mark starts by speaking of the Ministry of Jesus Christ. At the very beginning.
Mark introduces us to John the Baptizer, the man anointed by God to prepare for the arrival of the future King. The message entails John baptizing and proclaiming the truth of Holy repentance and the forgiveness of sins. We hear John call out in the gospel of Mark.
Mark 1:8, “I baptize with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
Ultimately, his words rang true with the arrival of Jesus from Nazareth, and by John, Jesus was baptized, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove. Jesus would then go out into the desert for forty days and nights to be tempted by Satan.
Similarly, those called into the ministry of Christ will be prepared in the same—a desert wilderness and testing. Satan tempted Christ in every way, and without food and water, Christ overcame each to fortify His faith.
This equipping necessary to crossover into the fullness of His ministry. We are no different and the actual telling of a one called reflects the walk of Christ. We cannot buy the anointing or receive it through men but by God.
Further on, the Bible tells us that Jesus moved on into Galilee while preaching His Father’s word with power and authority yet unschooled, making the Pharisees and Sadducees—the religious angry with envy and deceit. Ultimately the transgressors who saw to it that Jesus would be murdered.
Thus the calling of Christ today mimics the walk of Christ having to endure the similar situations of drought, testing, purging, shame and the faith fortifying necessary for our ministries; only God says who, where, and why. The testing is fierce and painful yet necessary to empty to be filled with His oil—the responsibility heavy and burdensome at times to our human bodies, still His Grace is sufficient.
The wilderness journey is the prerequisite for Christ’s ministry—the ministry is not our own, and this, too, is a vivid reflection of who is from God.
The anointing is Christ, and there are no substitutes, nor is the oil-free. We must be willing to part with our riches, homes, and family and drop our rods and reels, becoming a fisher of men? The price is costly and without reprove and character correction the oil is not pure.
In Matthew 19:20-22, a wealthy man asked Him, “What else could he do to gain eternal life?”
This a man who claimed to follow God’s laws his entire life well into his youth, leaving us to believe that he would typically answer accurately—to understand its requirements of discipleship, but guess what? He did not.
Jesus told him you must give it up entirely, including your possessions and worldly things. Sell everything that you own and give the rest to the poor. Though sadly, the man was unable to part with his items. This man had outer wealth, but inwardly he was lacking in Spirit and Faith and unwilling to submit to the cost of a Fisher of Men.
Jesus could see a need for this man from a place the man was not willing to look for fear of being without his Kingdom of dirt. God knows things about us, and just like the rich man that, after careful preparation, could be refined and equipped to be used to save souls. To fish for men.
Jesus knew that man could do mighty things through Christ but was resistant to obedience. Jesus saw the future that man couldn’t see.
In Matthew 19:23-24, Jesus said to his disciple, “ Truly I tell you it is hard for someone rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again, I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Here we find a more profound knowledge of man’s love of money—the stronghold of prosperity over righteousness and the lack of sacrifice that will lead many to hell in the churches and on the streets.
The wilderness strips us of the flesh that hangs onto worldly goods leading to these things, ultimately gnashing of teeth for those who chose the way of riches over righteousness.
To be an influential and effective servant of Christ comes with an expense many refuse to pay but shout about in Sunday service and frequently place ungodly judgments on those who have said yes.
A dangerous place with the hazards of God’s wrath on those who speak poorly of God’s anointed. Slander and evil things such as this are punishable by death without repentance.
Many are unaware of the foreign roads of refinement yet those who claim to believe mock those who thought and changed through Christ. The oil flows freely and does not charge people for wisdom or healing.
Think of it like this; a garden hose expels water caused by the high pressure that pushes the flow of water liquid to the end; this can freely nourish the grass, trees, flowers, and livestock.
The same theory applies when the pressure that generates the oil flows freely.
The new wine is pressed out from the places of scarcity. Through obedience to the function of God, adhering to his voice and commands to go deep into the deserts of obscurity to be emptied and filled, the flow stirred to pour out ultimately for the saving of many people.
Remember, when the disciple asked Jesus in verse 25,
“Who then can be saved?”
Jesus answered by saying, “With men it is impossible, But with God all things are possible.” There is no other way to be saved.
Notice that religion will not save you or make you a follower of Christ. Jesus said, “No man can appoint salvation or gift someone with the Holy Spirit.” Jesus announces that love, forgiveness, repentance, and eternal salvation are found only through Christ.
Also, see why Jesus told his future disciples that they must leave their boats, nets, and fisherman’s tools behind. Jesus advised them to leave all of their possessions behind because it would only hinder their walk with God and the ministry of a Fisher of Men.
By choosing to say yes and follow Jesus, we go with the clothes on our back And a purse that will not wear out and not filled with silver and gold. Evangelists Luke tells what Jesus told his followers.
Luke 12:33, “Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near, and no moth destroys.” saith the Lord
He instructs those unwilling to leave their own families and even are not fit for the ministry.

A ministry that would not only serve to save the people but their own families and generations.
In Luke 14:25-27, Jesus speaks of this,
“The Cost of Being a Disciple”
26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Furthermore, in the book of Luke.
Luke 14:33, Jesus says, “In the same way, any who does not give up everything cannot be my disciple.”
Sunday service, sacraments, and manufactured rituals do not equip a saint for service. Men ordaining men never called to the ministry, yet by their desires, the makes it easy to enter structures and build human kingdoms.
Many teach a corrupt gospel—one of greed, gain, prosperity, heretics, blasphemy, rituals, and traditions, and not all but countless—too many to number. They do not teach in sin, and repentance heaven and hell but are offended by those who do.
They claim to be the lords who must cover another person through a power trip when nowhere in scripture is this true. Christ is the head who encompasses all people.
Here is the truth,
1 John 2:27
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and that anointing is accurate, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
Isaiah 41:9
I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
For some…
Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
We see the larger picture of why the Earth is consumed with religious sin, idolatry, blasphemy, prosperity, mysticism, and fake prophecy summoning demons in the name of God.
2 Corinthians 11:13 So whom such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.
2 Timothy 3:5 “having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”
These are Satan workers, and those who find offense in the genuine calling them simple are enraged with envy, and emptiness consumes them.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.
2 Corinthians 11:13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of light.
The offices of God are not obtained by man but chosen by God and prepared by walking in the steps of Christ.
Matthew 24:14 “for many are called, but few are chosen.”
To mission called crazy by those who have lost their minds, and even some called and refused to answer.
Why?
Like the rich man unwilling to part with his things, selfishness is the priority of a world filled with impurity. So the cost of purity seems foreign, and they attack it.
The first to persecute the righteous in Christ, not understanding the pain they go through to be refined and prepared—it grieves and angers the Lord.
Millions will never receive salvation because they have faith in a man before God.
The Holy Spirit said, “tell them.”
“My faithful have bled tears to serve Me. My innocent ones. Those the world calls guilty. I will use them to lead My sheep to the pen.” Saith the Lord.
“They have answered the call and persevered to the end. I will raise them high Atop those I have filled with My light. Says the Lord.
“The splendor is from Me.”
“I will honor them for all they have done and without notice. I will redeem them, and for their obedience, no one will look away.
My oil flows from them; the oil is pure. It pleases Me.” Says the Lord.
“I will pour out My mercy over nations, and I trust them to do My will.” Says the Lord.
This is the word from the Lord.
To those ready to say yes, if God is calling you. Be prepared to receive the greatest love of your life but to be readied to suffer for Christ.
In the days ahead, let us submit to Christ, repent diligently, forgive earnestly and be reborn and not look back.
It is written: “Be holy because I am holy.”-1 Peter 1:16
Turn away from sexual immorality, idolatry, and sin, and keep your mouths free from sin and perverse talking. Admit to Christ your sins and renounce all entanglements with witchcraft, Satan, illicit never drugs, and the drink in Jesus’ name.
Seek the help you need and place all of your faith in Jesus Christ. Turn from all fornication, adultery, homosexuality, and the touching of little children.
Lay your lives in the fire to be a living sacrifice for Christ to be purified in preparation for Christ’s second coming.
With man, it is impossible, but through Christ, all things are possible. (Philippians 4:13)
The Bible says, in Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, ten nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Deuteronomy 18:10-13 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations, the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God,
1 Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
